Last night Lucy Kilislian launched her Candy Ice collection at Prego in Beverly Hills but instead of asking your run-off-the-mill cutesy questions to the celebrities who attended the event, we took a step further by asking them what they would do if they if they were naked and stranded in a jewelry store and a mystery question. Lucy Kalislian is the woman behind Candy Ice says she gets inspiration from “old world hollywood” and “anything glamorous”. “I wanted to create a line that was colorful and very fun and I just thought of candy ’cause I’ve always loved candy. It makes me happy and I just wanted to put a smile on somebody’s face when they view it,” says Lisa.
Lisa is wearing an animal print dress which she got during Paris Fashion Week. A crystal encrusted Chanel belt, disco diamond ball earrings with matching ring and bracelet from her collection and custom made crystal shoes she ordered from Miami complete the glam look.

Vivica A. Fox is one vivacious lady and I love her for that! Her advice to ladies who want to rock Candy Ice: “Get some boyfriend that’s got some money or girlfriend just go work and buy it your own damn self!” She is gorgeous in a black Herve Leger bandage dress with sequins that go so well with her favorite new shoe designer, Nicholas Kirkwood.

After an afternoon shopping in West Hollywood, Paris Hilton drops by the jewelry launch. The heiress didn’t stay long but looked so girly in chocolate and cream dress with braided hair, Christian Louboutin pumps and a Samantha Thavasa bag.

Kimberly Caldwell who looked sexy in a pink strapless number was greeted by Lucy on the red carpet with a diamond necklace for her to wear for the launch. Isn’t that every girl’s dream to be greeted with blings?

True Beauty winner Julia Anderson found this eye candy Sky dress in her closet and rocked it to the Candy Ice event because it reminded her of a lollilop. She carried a pink Chanel bag and proudly declared that her cute shoes are by Forever 21. She was also very thankful that her friend loaned her the Chanel bag for the night. Nice friend you got there!

BFF’s on the red carpet hotties Emrhys Cooper and Hannah Cowley. Emrhys wore a cream Dolce and Gabbana suit which he bought on sale with an H&M button down shirt and Paul Smith shoes. Hannah looked real cute in a black dress by Felt.

There was something very Balmain about Lara Johnston’s dress but she said it was just Bebe. But she wore it with Prada heels because she likes to mix the “high and the low.”

Heroes star Lisa Lackey arrived in a Helmut Lang tee and jeans. The 38-year-old Australian star looks much prettier in person.

There’s really no need to ask Romi Dames what she was wearing as she is perpetually in a Single dress. She was styled as usual by her “fairy god stylist” Mike Sam. Mike who has known Romi for almost a year really knows what works best for the voluptuous star. She adds a bright red lipstick and black Guess pumps to her sexy little black number.

Gotta love Kristen’s family. She gets help from her mother and sister when it comes to red carpet events. She’s wearing a brown tiered number by Alice + Olivia with L.A.M.B. clutch which her sister provided. Her cute dangling earrings were provided by her mother. Lovely family!

I was thrilled to meet Ashley Jones who played Daphne on True Blood. She wore a silver Hale Bob number with Alice + Olivia cuff with Carlos Santana shoes which she raved as affordable. How about that?

Jazmin Whitley, the girl who launched her clothing line in high school was also at the event wearing a strapless number with ice candy details on the bodice which she designed herself of course. With straight hair and Prada heels, Jazmin was ready to mingle and party the night away.

Academy award-nominated Stacy Sherman Ray was once just going in for a blow-dry at Modern Salon not too long ago. Little did she know that eight months later she would be dragging boxes and taking over the second floor of the salon to transform it to a boutique she aptly gave the moniker Upstairs. The recently opened shop features the hottest brands in womens’ and mens’ fashion that include Virtue, A&G, Frankie B, Worn Free, and Brave Soldier, among others. The company also prides itself on showcasing socially conscious products and is committed to giving a portion of profits to various charitable organizations. Jordana Brewster, Vanna White, Sela Ward and Kiely Williams are among the notables spotted shopping in the trendy boutique.

Gary on pinstripes and plaids: “I think the really big thing for fall right now is mixing prints. You can obviously mix them and it looks really good. I think people should be comfortable with mixing different prints like that and not feeling like it’s inappropriate or it’s going to clash each other because obviously it doesn’t, if you mix it correctly.

Among many a fashionista’s fantasies is to raid her style idols’ closets. But what happens if the closet is the size of an entire warehouse?

We head downtown to visit Galina Sobolev, the beautiful Russian-born designer behind the label SINGLE. SINGLE has made celebrities look beautiful since 2002, with the likes of Eva Longoria Parker, Jennifer Lopez, Fergie, Jennifer Love Hewitt and many other red-hot young Hollywood stars decorating this label.

With an entire SINGLE warehouse as our playground, we asked stylist Mike Sam to dress up voluptuous beauty Hannah Montana star Romi Dames to see what kind of magic results from whom Romi calls her fairy godstylist. Galina on her love for prints and colors: “I love prints and I love color and I want to bring that feeling of happiness to a lot of the people, to the women that wear my dresses. And also I try to really encourage the celebrities to wear our signature prints. When they are photographed - a lot of people tend to kind of wear solids - the camera is instantly drawn to them. So what I find is that when the celebrity wears a SINGLE dress, they get so much more press and therefore it’s a kind of recognizable, recognition that comes both ways.”

Romi loved the warehouse. Being there makes her feel “like a kid in the candy store.”
On SINGLE clothes: “I love their clothes. The thing that I love about SINGLE is like there are so many different looks, I feel there is something appropriate for every occasion.

Galina describes this royal blue dress as very sophisticated, very refined and would look great on Romi.

Mike on why he chose this dress for Romi: “She has the ideal body. Very Marilyn Monroe body.”
Romi loves this dress so much it makes her want to call for a power meeting and say, “alright, boys, lay your cards on the table.”

This is what Galina calls the sexy secretary look. The skirt is made of menswear fabric to give it a little masculine touch.

Mike loves the color and cut of this dress but for Romi, its stylish and playful vibe.

This gray tank with tiered silk skirt and a gorgeous handmade necklace is what Galina calls the Romi Dames dress.

“It accentuates everything that we need to accentuate. I love the jewel details,” on why Mike picked this third dress for Romi.
Romi channels Gossip girl: “This dress totally reminds me of Gossip Girl, like, I want to be in New York City. I want to like, lunch at a fabulous place and go for cocktails!”

I didn’t want to leave the warehouse without my picks. This orange belted tunic which won’t come out until January didn’t come in my size but that didn’t stop me from trying it on. I looooove it!

Since this also didn’t come in my size, it required a few tricks from Mike and voila! - a cute sequined purplicious number for me that comes with a sexy back. I couldn’t take my eyes off it. Seriously.

My last pick and certainly not the least, is this floral maxi dress which was worn by Fergie earlier this year. For this interview, Galina wore this dress and added a large chunky belt for a fabulous touch.

At the 2009 Ivy Bethune Tri-Union Diversity Awards, ROmi wore a cute SINGLE dress.

Romi described the warehouse experience perfectly, “like a kid in a candy store,” only that this is a case of being like a kid left with friends in the Wonka candy factory, and you either want to live in it forever or take everything home.

Celebrities are all glammed up for the red carpet but what we don’t see is the hard work put in to making themselves look beautiful. We envy their skin, their bodies. Spas, gym, pilates, dieting and all that jazz from here till Tuesday go with being a celebrity. Do you also want to look great but are too lazy to hit the gym? Turns out, there are a few really fun alternatives to the monotone of running or the repetition of lifting weights, like– get this– pole dancing! That’s gymnastics and dancing rolled into one. We checked out Crunch Fitness for a pole dancing session with Instructor Alycia M. Perrin and Playboy model and DJ Roxanne Dawn.

Calisthenics is recommended to relax the muscles before for any work out.

Pole dancing requires upper body strength. Here is Roxanne doing her push-ups. Instructor Alycia says “push-up, push-up, push-up!”

After a month of pole dancing lessons, Roxanne shows us what she can do.

Roxanne on pole dancing: “I love it because it’s a great workout and it helps relieves stress and specially because it’s something sexy I can show my guy when I get home.”

Alycia on her students: “I love empowering women. When they come into class, they are all really shy and I’m like uh-uh, come on get it out, get it out - I need some sexy!”

I asked Roxanne if she lifted weights prior to pole dancing: “No, my only work out before was deejaying. When I dj, I dance a lot.”

Alycia on learning how to pole dance:” I taught myself how to pole dance. It started with me being injured and being injured on your knee as a classical dancer, you kind of find something else to keep myself in shape. So, I don’t like the gym. I don’t like anything else so I bought a pole and I got on youtube and that was the end of it. Then I got addicted.”

Alycia might have taught herself how to pole dance but she doesn’t recommend it to anyone: “You get a lot of self taught, you get a lot of self hurt.” But she does “advocate having a pole in your house”. Burlesque is sometimes added to Alycia’s routine, “This way you get the whole dance, the whole ambiance of taking your clothes off and being cute and sexy and still being empowered.” After watching a session of pole dancing and actually doing it, I seriously want to make a go for it. Who doesn’t want a mega dose of sensuality and channeling inner Dita Von Teese on the side? Now, if I can only find time…

Every year animal loving celebrities hit the Celebrity Catwalk to raise awareness and funds for the National Animal Rescue. Last night’s event featured designs from Heather Mill’s Be@One line, Lane Bryant, Roca Wear and Puma. R&B singer Mya and Heather Mills were also being honored with an Animal Activism Award. It was night of fashion and charity in one unforgettable evening. We caught up with some of the celebrities on the red carpet at the Highlands Night Club and asked them what kind of animal they would be and why?

Grammy Award-winning singer Mya on what kind of animal she would be: ” Well, I am learning about cats you know. I’d probably be a feline. The move slowly but carefully, cautiously. They go after exactly what they want. Not quiet readable all the time either”. Mya says she has three dogs and 2 kittens that get along very well. The talented singer-songwriter wore a Dahlia dress, BCBG heels and Michelle Roy jewelry.

With a plane to catch, Mya had to be given her award before the show started. On how it feels to be honored: ” It feels wonderful, you know, anytime that you are acknowledged for something you just love to do. I really appreciate that. I have five animals of my own. I am very active in the animal community and saving lives with North Shore League of America and I am looking forward to doing more work in the preservation of their lives. They run my life, they make me happy, keep me sane
and balanced so I owe it to them.”

Philanthropist Heather Mills was of course there to accept her award for all her animal work. She wore a black sequined top and purple pencil skirt, red heels and the Cartier Ballon Bleu diamond studded watch. Her line Be@one was featured in the fashion show.

Stephanie Pratt brought her usual cute stylish self to the event in a Top shop dress, Miu Miu sandals, Lia Sophia and a bracelet she got from a boutique in New York called Pretty Girl. Pratt doesn’t rely on a stylist to make her look this good, so give yourself a pat on the back!

Stephanie Pratt wants to be a horse! “There were always my favorite animal. I never played with dolls actually, which is so funny. I only play with horses, animals and legos.” On being an animal lover: ” Huge, huge. The only events that I have been into recently are all for animals.” She says she’s always tired at night but if it’s about animals, she will there “anywhere, anytime.”

Everybody got a little excited when Shannon Elizabeth arrived. She said she didn’t wear anything exciting in her Guess jeans, striped top and knee high boots but the guys were actually cheering.

Shannon Elizabeth is passionate about animals, ” I have an animal rescue myself. I am all about the animals.” Elizabeth wants to be a dog and thinks “dogs are great.” “I want a dog that lives with me because I’ll spoil him to death. ”

Karina Smirnoff was probably the last one to arrive on the red carpet but she turned heads in this very interesting Nika Formals floor length gown.

On being a lover of animals: “I am very much so. Actually, I do a lot of work very closely with Boxers Rescue L.A. I have donated time and money to countless animal charities. It’s a passion of mine.” She has a boxer bull mastiff named Roxie and Cooper and a cat named Minnie. But she would love to be an angelfish, “I love the water. So peaceful.”
She wears a dress given to her by her sister which looks great on her with Baker pumps.

High School Musical KayCee Stroh also loves the animals: “I have a brand new puppy and she’s my everything so I can’t imagine anyone, anything choosing to hurt these great animals. It just heartbreaking to me. I grew up with two amazing dogs and cats. I was born and raised in Utah so I am a country girl. I had plenty of animals in my home.” She has a six month old beagle named Piper. KayCee had a tough time deciding what animal she should be: “I think a bird would be a lot of fun because I would like to fly, feel the the wind in my hair, be able to visit my family quickly but I don’t know, a tough second would be a horse.” She wears a Torrid dress and pinstriped pumps from Steve Madden which she described as “old fashioned 50’s girl” She didn’t work with a stylist.

Being born under the sign of Leo, Angell Conwell naturally but wants to be a lion “because she likes all the qualities of a lion”. But she loves her pitbull named Xena which she describes as funny and has a lot of attitude. Angell has to speak with a baritone voice for Xena to listen. Now that is one fierce dog! Her purple number is by Baby Phat and the shoes are Badgley Mishka.

Florist to the stars Kevin Lee was such a delight to talk to. On what animal he would want to be: ” A puppy because I am a Jewish Princess”. He looked fab in an Armani beaded top, Prada jacket, Oscar de la Renta shoes, Gucci eye wear with jeans and belt by Hermes. Watch out for the Emmy’s because he will be doing the floral arrangements!

The Imagen (Image) Foundation held its 24th Annual Awards last night at the Beverly Hilton. Stylecritics checked out the celebrities who came to celebrate and honor Latinos in the entertainment industry.

Benjamin Bratt and his pretty wife Talisa Sotto arrived in matching outfits.

Wilmer Valderrama looked sharp in a really nice brown suit. Too bad he didn’t talk to the press much and went straight inside.

I really wanted to talk to Judy Reyes because her rendition of ‘Talk Dirty to Me’ on Scrubs was awesome! But we all know she’s pregnant and was already tired from doing so much on the red carpet. We understand Judy!

She plays Theresa Russo, the mother of Selena Gomez on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ but the 42 year old Maria Canals-Barrera could pass for an older sister of Selena in the show. Her two kids ages 4 and 6 keeps her in shape by running after them constantly. With that body, shopping should not be a problem for Maria - just like this dress she purchased a few days ago in Nordstrom. Maria shopped for less than an hour and didn’t even bother checking the price tag. Sounds like a good shopping buddy to me!

Meet Caitlin Reyes, the voice behind Dora the Explorer. The 13 year-old still gets excited when her friends freak out when she does the Dora voice. Congratulations to Hector Bustamante for winning Best Actor for Television: “Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story”. On his nomination: “I’ve worked so hard just to hear that.” On his plans for last night’s win: “I plan to go to New York and celebrate big because my people are over there”. He didn’t prepare a speech but he made a list of people he wanted to thank because he “didn’t want to forget them.”

Jimmy Smits is wearing Hugo Boss and will be in the movie ‘Madonna and Child’ out next year.

Either Jimmy is so tall or I am too short! Jimmy is 6′3″ and I - am not telling! But he found a way to even it out.

From my favorite hit show 24, Carlos Bernard! I must admit I almost didn’t recognize him as he is more gorgeous in person. He wears Hugo Boss, Red Label, a Calvin Klein tie, Maurice Lacroix watch and Kenneth Cole shoes. Looks like he lost a lot of weight too.

Ana Layevska reminds me of Bridget Fonda. But Ana says, people tell her she looks like Jodie Foster all the time. But she doesn’t mind at all. Ana chose this dress because she says, “it’s not too dressy.” Her blue dress is from a British designer called Rice, wore Bebe shoes and carried a KoKo clutch she bought years ago.

My director friend Juan Escobedo (left) was there with actor Jose Yenque who wore a R.A.T.S. (Ron Anthony and Tony Sartino) suit with a cute Maggie Barry tie and Salvatore Ferragamo pointy shoes! Jose recently chopped off his long locks which he had for a year. He likes this got out of bed look and will be sporting this style for some time. He said he only took 30 minutes to prepare for this event.

One of my guilty pleasures is watching ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’. So imagine my excitement when I finally see Jennifer Stone in person! I have seen her name on guest lists for some red carpet events but she never shows up. She said she would rather stay home as these kind of events make her feel awkward. Normally she likes wearing black but on red carpet events, she tries to wear color.

I was ecstatic when Andy Garcia agreed to a short interview but then I totally blanked out. When asked about his latest projects, Andy said “Beverly Hills Chihuahua three, we’re going to skip two, we’re going right to three!” I asked him what he was wearing and he flashes his signature grin and said, “It’s a secret!” He is gorgeous. Tj Austin (G.I. Joe) raved about the white shirt he is wearing that he got hand painted in Hong Kong when he was there. With the success of G.I. at the box office, Tj says he will be in for a bigger role for the sequel, so watch out for it.

Singer Bon Bon who is promoting her single “Turn it Up” wore a Nick McGrath purple number with Betsey Johnson ankle boots and a studded clutch she got in New York. She loves fashion that’s why she came to the event!

Italian director Cinzia Memmo who just arrived three days ago in Los Angeles is already attending red car events. She has two projects in the bag which she couldn’t discuss and is wearing Italian stuff from head to toe, including the vintage studded bag.

Tionne just dropped his new single “Unfreeze” which was produced by Baby Face’s nephew. Tionee on his outfit: ” Just simple. I am simple guy, I love black. I love the little rock flare that my stylist hook me up with, you know I am just doing me.” Talking about his stylist Randy, watch out Randy he wants to keep those blings around his neck!

Singer Vince Thomas adores Versace but didn’t wear one last night but wished the brand came in his size. He recently released his single “Hypnotic Body in iTunes and Amazon and is currently working on an album. He works with a stylist for his most of his red carpet events.

Kate Linder came prepared. She took out a list of stuff she was wearing so they would be credited properly. Her brown sheath dress is by Sado, the shoes are Shelight, jewelry is by Anna Reign and the gold clutch is by Ciara Kasanna. The brown color is very Kate.

Celebrity dermatologist Dr. Vicki Rapaport may see a lot of celebrities but “treats every patient like a celebrity”. It was a night of glitz and glamour at the official West Coast Premiere of Project Runway at the Remedy Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. Guests were not only treated to the first episode of the new season but also a VIP after party and reception featuring DJ Mark Lewis. Stylecritics checked out the fashion lovers and fashionistas in attendance.

Hot fashion designer David Alexander who has dressed Britney Spears, Mariska Hargitay and Kim Kardashian arrived with his model Laura LaRue in a gold structured dress with contour lines and a cut out back from his collection. The art deco inspired dress came with shoulder pads because Alexander “loves to empower women by showing that structure and energy and strength”. The summer line that he is doing right now which will be out on October 14 has taken him a little bit longer but said his last season was done in one night with a theme and a song. David rocks in jeans and jacket from Zara to go with his Custom boots, his own vest and a Wet Cement tee. David wears the David Alexander for Simon G bracelet. His model is wearing Michael Kors heels.

If you saw the premiere of Melrose Place, Ashlee Simpson was wearing David Alexander. This is what David had to say about Ashlee: “She did amazing, she made the clothes look so much better.” I love this guy!

I love that she wore it in a pony and side swept hair and I’m almost too sure the boys will agree.

The 12 year-old ‘Orphan’ actress is a self-confessed Project Runway addict! Isabelle Furhman loves Heidi Klum, Project Runway winners Leanne Marshall and Christian Siriano and “the one and only Tim Gunn who makes it works”. She is so adorable in a Mademoiselle Charlotte dress with belt and ballet flats from J. Crew. Mommy helped her dress up for this event.

Tanjareen Martin (Curb Your Enthusiasm) relies on designer Tasha Monique Carter for her red carpet events. The 5′9″ stunner works this gray wrap top with matching wide leg pants from her designer friend.

Danielle Petty works the red carpet in a purple ruffle top and brown slacks from Grass. Her bag (not in photo) was something she bought in the Bahamas.

Vintage jewelry designer Margaret Rowe was also there in a vintage black sheath dress with her own beautiful accessories. Her pieces have been used for a Project Runway photo shoot in a downtown warehouse. You can view her collection at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

Lorielle New was in a really naughty mood wearing a pretty see through Lana Fuchs creation off the runway. If I could only tell you what I saw up close! She finished her look with a Madeline Beth clutch, Safia necklace and Michael Kors heels. Someone is getting a lot of cat calls!
