Leslie Gibb is looking very hot in a cute little black dress with classic black pumps. But maybe a little too bare. Wearing hot shoes can give it an extra oomph and that would have been a five!
I am a true blue True Blood fan. I love Lafayette and Jason Stackhouse. Amy maybe a kidnapping vampire psychotic bitch girlfriend of Jason but she sure knows her hippie fashion. In yesterday’s episode, she wore this brown floral dress and I want it! Would you know where I could get the same exact dress?
True Blood Lover
Dear True Blood Lover,
Let me just say that I have am declaring a fashion crush on Amy. I was ecstatic when I saw this dress on Jason’s new professed lover too! I found the exact one she wore - it is called the “Gabriella Dress” from Delia’s. On sale online right now for only $37.50… get them fangs ready!
Amy’s character is absolute fab with her boho chic style. She has to take that V addiction and psycho tendencies down a notch. Happy Fanging!
Am I the only one who rolls her eyes in disgust upon seeing monogrammed bags? It’s everywhere! Who cares if that trash is worth thousands of dollars? The more reason they shouldn’t have bought it in the first place! You know what’s hilarious, they are really bad dressers. Where’s the class? I hope you are not of them who use it as their every day bag!
Baggy
Dear Baggy,
I actually know quite a number of people who feel the same as you do! You should form a club. Some people think wearing expensive designer automatically makes them stylish and classy. Ask the nouveau-riche - ha ha.
I am not very fond of bags like that myself. One of my favorite everyday bag is the Gryson Taylor Saddle bag (photo above). Carry it like a tote or put the strap across your chest to give you full use of your arms when shopping! Perfect for somebody lazy like me - another ha.
But you know, I have seen some people wear designer from head to toe - from hat to scarf to belt to bag to shoes, how about that? I think your eyes will pop!
Stylecritics had a Q & A with L.A. designer Devon Leigh, the winner of the 33rd Annual Dallas Award for Fashion Jewelry. Her line is an impressive collection of natural semi-precious stones with textured gold, hammered silver and lustrous rhodium. It’s versatile, unique and simply beautiful. If you think you’ve seen it before, it’s probably because it has been featured on Sex and the City, Oprah and in fashion magazines. Or maybe you’ve seen it on Elizabeth Taylor, Britney Spears, Kate Bosworth, Christina Applegate and oh, the list goeson.
Stylecritics: Congratulations on your big win. You were up against big names like Diane Von Fustenberg, Vivienne Tam, Salvatorre Ferragamo, Carolina Herrera and House of Emilio Pucci. How was it? How did you prepare for this?
Devon Leigh: I feel honored to be nominated with such amazing designers and to win this award was even more satisfying. This is an event that you cannot prepare for, but hope to be recognized for your work. I am very lucky to have such a supportive and loyal clientele throughout the nation!
S: What are your favorites pieces in your collection and why? Where do you get inspiration? Your collection is to die for!
DL: I really don’t have favorite pieces - I love them all the same. In some ways my jewelry is about evolution; my evolution as a woman, a wife, a mother and a designer. I design jewelry intuitively based on perception of style and beauty that is both decadent and elegant. The pieces in many ways reflect aspects of my own character, refined with a balance of adventure. One of my favorite things to do is pair an elegant piece with something as simple as jeans and t-shirt. The pieces really lend themselves to that - adding a touch of luxury to an otherwise casual look.
S: Did you always know you were going to design jewelry? How did you get into this business?
DL: I had an no idea I was going to design jewelry. I actually went to college for film and screenwriting and worked in the movie industry for three years before designing jewelry as a hobby. My small hobby which people connected and responded to immediately eventually turned into a full time career.
S: Do you need to go to school for this art?
DL: It comes naturally for me.
S: If you were to dress up a celebrity with your jewelry, what jewelry would go with that celebrity? Like Jennifer Lopez would definitely like to wear your bangles.
DL: Beyonce and Jessica Simpson would love my big, signature earrings. Yes, Jennifer Lopez would love my bangles and Kate Hudson would love my cuffs. Everyone would love my necklaces because they are so versatile.
S: Your advice to struggling designers out there.
DL: Patience is a virtue.
Check Devon Leigh’s amazing collection and prepare to drool!
The collection had me at bangles and cuffs, I had to look for my jaw - I think I dropped it! As a t- shirt and jeans person, I rely heavily on accessories. Devon’s pieces are just the things you need to complete your fashion statement. I love it!
Marshalls Shoe Megashop has a plethora of designer shoes to scavenge through. I was running all over the place looking for the perfect heels. Finally, the perfect shoe appeared on top of the display mantel, and it beamed with rays of light. BAM!
Featured above is a black patent Tahari sling back wedges. This shoe is absolutely “fiercelicious.” The Tahari wedges were priced $39.99 (on sale $29). Now that is a steal, considering Tahari usually retails up to $200. I am excited about this shoe cause it matches everything in my closet. It can be paired with jeans, skirts, and dresses- best of all it will work through all the seasons!
Feeling I get: A model pouncing on the runway ready to attack!
Comfort Level: Smooth and perfect balance
Hotness: Girl, it is on fireeeee!
Marshall’s Shoe Megashop: Completely in love with!
I saw Charlize Theron wearing a green gown with black flats at the Hancock Premiere. Is it now trendy to wear flat sandals with a gown?
Charlize Fan
Dear Charlize Fan,
Charlize was wearing a strapless beauty from Dior by John Galliano. The embellished black flats you are talking about is by Guiseppe Zanotti and they are so gorgeous.
The flats worked for Charlize because she’s 5′ 9 1/2.” If I were to wear that dress, I’d still wear something like that but this time with heels like the black beaded t-strap leather trim sandals by Dolce and Gabbana (top photo) - because I’m not as blessed as Charlize Theron you know!
We’ve had emails requesting for a fashion ID on Emmanuelle Chriqui’s yellow strapless dress in this photo. We got it for you! She wears a Modern Amusement dress and a hat by Eugenia Kim.
Dear StyleCritics,
Can you please ID Kim Kardashian’s yellow dress at the Kiels opening event. I have been looking for it forever! Thanks.
