Janet Jackson is so impressed by the legion of drag queens who attempt to mimic her act she'd like to be one. The Control hitmaker admits she checks out drag stars who have their own Janet Jackson act whenever she hears of one - and some are amazing. She chuckles, "One of them was at the Baton (Show Lounge) in Chicago. This was a few years ago. And she did a wonderful job. "(There was) another… in Atlanta at the Jungle. She did a wonderful job as well.
"They really study you… (and) they pour it on more, which I absolutely love. They give more than I do and I love that. The first time I went to the Baton in Chicago and saw this show, I was with some of my dancers.
"Afterward, I said to my dancers, 'We've gotta pull (it) up because these bitches are hitting it. They're giving so much femininity and we look like boys onstage.'
Jackson tells Eonline.com that sometimes the drag queens' Janet routines make it into her live shows.
She adds, "We were trying our hardest to ooze with that feminine touch."
And she'd love to 'drag it up' for a magazine photoshoot: "It would be really fun to do a whole editorial spread in a magazine with me as a drag queen, completely from head to toe. I would love to do that."

This is a themed party and this is the time to go nasty! But there's just so much to like in Janet's white halter neck silk jersey gown by Versace. If you must flaunt the toned body…

I love this dress on Ellen Barkin – pure movie star glamour. But did too much focus on the dress make Ellen forget that her hair needed work too? It’s just a little too casual for my taste. The MET gala is definitely not the place for wash-and-wear hair.

This light blue Valentino dress seems a little over the top with the ruffles and all but somehow I like it!
Must be the sweet color or Claudia's body is just making it look better than it should.

Anna Wintour, through the years, has become one of the most powerful people in fashion, setting trends and anointing new designers. The Guardian has called her the "unofficial mayoress" of New York City. She has worked behind the scenes to encourage fashion houses to hire younger, fresher designers such as John Galliano, who owes his position at Christian Dior to her intervention. She persuaded Donald Trump to let Marc Jacobs use a ballroom at the Plaza Hotel for a show when he and his partner were short of cash. More recently, she persuaded Brooks Brothers to hire the relatively unknown Thom Browne. Her protégée at Vogue, Plum Sykes, became a successful novelist, drawing her settings from New York's fashionable élite.
Like many successful power brokers, she rarely makes her wishes known directly. Fashion industry publicists say that a simple "Do you want me to go to Anna with this?" from a subordinate is often enough to settle a dispute in Vogue's favor.

Anna Wintour in her futuristic Chanel frock at the Met's Costume Gala certainly knows what she is in business for. Why, she can even make Queen Amidala and Diva Plavalaguna (Fifth Element) blush. The woman definitely knows what to wear and how it should be done. Just look at those pockets, genius indeed!

Actress Christina Ricci wants to dedicate her career to making family films - because she's sick of sex, drugs and sleaze on screen.
The star appears in new family-oriented race-car movie Speed Racer, and loved the experience so much she is pushing for more clean-cut roles - and she wants the rest of Hollywood to follow suit.
Ricci, who has played sex-hungry tramps and nymphomaniacs on screen, says, "I wanted to do a kids movie again. I wanted to do a family film. There are so many family movies for kids but they don't actually teach you anything.
"Speed Racer really stresses integrity and morals and a love of family, and that's something I think is really important and a trend we need to bring back."

Lynda Carter, the blue eyed wonder of the hit and hot tv show Wonder Woman in the 70's is definitely the inspiration of this creation. I love that show!
I think Ricci - considering the theme for the gala was superheroes - was probably the only one who got what the doctor ordered. It's fun and funny at the same time!

The pink strapless number is so Beyonce! It has to highlight the curves or else. But at least this time the color is very pretty and the ruffles and pleat details are just gorgeous. However, she must retire that stupid pose already!
