The 2008 Beijing Olympics brought cheers, pride, and amazement in every household in America!!

TEAM USA’s Men Basketball finally lead to victory and took home the gold for the U.S.!! The team trained hard and won of course, without the help of Coach K! The best part of the final game was when Kobe made a basket and put his finger up to his lips to shut the crowd up.

The Men’s team was made up from the best of the NBA: Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Chris Paul, Dwayne Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Jason Kidd, Tayshaun Prince, Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer, and Michael Redd.

The biggest event for the 2008 Beijing Olympics took place at the Water Cube!

Ricky Berens, Ryan Lochte, Michael Phelps and Peter Vanerkaay broke the world record swimming in the 4X200 relay race. They took home the Gold and also breaking the world record!

Ryan Lochte made a huge splash in the Water Cube! He won his first individual gold in the 200m backstroke and breaking the world record too! We should be expecting a bigger splash from Mr.Lochte in 2012 Olympics and hopefully more of him in 09′ !!!

Last but not least, Michael Phelps made history by winning 8 gold medals at the Beijing Olympics! He diminished Mark Spitz 7 gold medal record. Phelps is a fish out of water!

Drum roll. . .Michael Phelps was named “Sportsman of the Year” for Sports Illustrated. He’s pictured in a tux soaked in water but the problem lies in the editing. Photoshopped much? Eeek, it looks like Phelps is a drowning merman!

He’s a huge sweetheart! He visited Beth Israel Hospital in NYC to read to the children.

Michael Phelps is now dominating as a spokesman model these days. He recently inked a deal with Subway to be the new model. Yes, I am all for a healthy lunch, but who would not mind staring at this guy while eating a yummy sub.

Phelps attended the 2008 Golden Goggle Awards in NYC . He picked up three awards for his performance from the historic Beijing Summer Olympics. Did he dye his hair? It looks darker, but it suits him.

Phelps is one of  GQ’s “Men of the Year”.  There are 4 different guys on the covers but  Phelps makes one hot commodity in his. Phelps looks so badass on the front cover, no cigarette required! I love when he grows his hair out, he looks more manly.

Michael Phelps maybe smelling chlorine and gold medals. But Brody Jenner is sweeping in all the Hollywood A-lister’s. If serial dating was an Olympic Game, Brody would surpass Phelps Gold Medal Record.So Phelps, got Game?

Ricky Berens, Ryan Lochte,Michael Phelps The US Men’s 4 x 200m Freestyle team, led out by the indomitable Michael Phelps, smashed the world record on the way to winning the gold medal on Wednesday.The triumph keeps alive Phelps’ dream of gathering a record eight golds at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. The win also brings Phelps his 10th career Olympic gold to date.The US team of Phelps, Ryan Lochte, Ricky Berens and Peter Vanderkaay led for the entire race and stretched the world record margin throughout the race.Lochte followed Phelps’ lead-off leg and established command under the world record time by 3.63 seconds. Berens slightly increased this, handing over to Vanderkaay to anchor the relay home and extend their lead on the world record, smash it by 4.68 seconds and break the seven-minute barrier at 6min 58.56sec.
