Charlize hits an ace with her white tee, vest, jeans and gladiator get-up. Maria, however gets a love for wearing a vest on a printed shirt.  Advantage Theron or make that Game over for Sharapova.

Rating:

1 for Maria Sharapova

4 for Charlize Theron

If you are familiar with Batman, you would know that Kim Basinger wore this white mess in the 1989 Batman with Michael Keaton and Jack Nicholson. I swear that could have passed for a joker outfit!

Fast forward to 2008 and Maria Sharapova wears something similar. What, she has a robotic arm she has to hide? Pray tell!

Maria! Maria!

Maria Sharapova

Listening to music, eating… and doing my homework. I love studying and I miss my school badly. (on how she spends her time on long trips)

I was born in Russia… And I still have a big family there… And should I explain it? Is it even possible to explain?! It just should be felt. I know there is Russian blood inside me. Near Americans I feel myself Russian first of all. (on what makes her feel Russian)

About 4 hours of tennis per day. Plus fitness 1,5-2 hours. During tournaments I train 2-3 hours per day. (on how she trains)

I always try to be an optimist. I think it helps to live.

Do you know what a pleasure it is to drink some coffee at home? No one serves you – you just make it yourself. To spend time with your family, to sleep at home, not in the hotel but in your bed… Home - this is the best place for being, for rest.

This year I decided that the most important thing was my health. Because when you are healthy you are happy. Even when you lose. That’s the main thing – to be healthy.

It's not the outfit that is worrying me - it's her hair! Did she go to a dog groomer or what? The bangs are so ridiculous. And I don't care if it's a freaking trend.

"She wouldn't make any noise during sex… She just lay there like a dead frog. She even got angry if I started to moan, said it 'ruined her concentration.'" Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine denying reports he claimed he ditched tennis ace Maria Sharapova because she was a "terrible lover" who refused to moan or move during sex.

The pair dated briefly in 2005, after meeting at the Russian Wimbledon champion's 18th birthday party - but their romance soon fell cold.

Maria is trying to catch something with her dress and it's not the guys attention. More like flies and mosquitoes

Maria: Knocking Balls at Nine

"I couldn't have succeeded without [my parents]", Maria Sharapova said, and she was right. She and her parents fled to Seberia to avoid the effects of Chernobyl. She and her father then emigrated to Florida when she was only 7. When Maria was 9, she was enrolled at Nick Bollettieri's Tennis Academy. When Maria kept knocking thousands of balls in the baskets each day, coach Nick Bollettieri realized the potential talent in her. Maria never just wanted to practice drills, she always wanted to play points against both girls and boys. She grew up tall, beautiful, and talented. Although she signed a contract with a model company, she wanted people to remember her by her talent, not by her beauty. On July 3rd, 2004, she defeated #1 seed Serena Williams in the Wimbledon and in front of the entire world. She hugged her trophy and her father, knowing that she would never be there if it wasn't for her parents.

What on earth is Maria Sharapova wearing? This has got to be the most unflattering outfit she's ever worn. I mean it's not something new, she's usually wearing something bad anyways. Trying to look like a plain jane? Well, this just goes to show us that you can't ace them all. Will just see you in the courts Maria where we will enjoy your cute tennis outfits.

Divine in Leather

A few months back I mentioned that Maria Sharapova in leather in the summer was probably styled by a fan of Miss Divine. Miss Divine wrote and I quote:

"A slave of mine brough your critique of Maria Sharapova's leather dress to my attention. I love it! I agree that she can't pull the leather as well as I do."

I already said that Maria wearing leather in the summer at the red carpet is crazy. Plus it was very ill fitting! Miss Divine is voluptuous in her skin tight leather. What about it guys?!

Maria Fashionista

Never one to be knowingly underdressed, Maria Sharapova has disclosed that she will defend her US Open title in a flame-red, crystal-encrusted outfit which has been inspired by the lights of the New York skyline.

In her red dress, with over 600 Swarovski crystals on the neckline, the Russian will look as though she is ready for an evening in a Man-hattan cocktail bar rather than a game of tennis at Flushing Meadows in blue-collar Queens, where the US Open starts on Monday. Indeed, Sharapova launched the dress, which she will wear for her night matches under the lights of the Arthur Ashe Stadium, at a fashion event in the Rockefeller Centre in Manhattan, looking out over the city.

These days, it seems that the build-up to every grand slam has to include the world No 2 talking about the finer points of her wardrobe. Sharapova does not just wear dresses; she launches them. At Wimbledon, her outfit was partly based on a swan, here it is the New York skyscrapers. What else? "The designs are inspired by the city itself," said Sharapova.

As well as the red number, she has a customised black-and-white dress for day matches. The world's highest-earning sportswoman knows how to look the part. Her love of fashion attracts extra attention on tennis.

"It's always important to feel comfortable in what you're wearing when you're playing, but in tennis, you can do so many things with your wardrobe," she said.

Just because one is known to dressed to the nines doesn't automatically mean they are best dressers. She could be wearing a great dress (like Sharapova's green sheath) but has the wrong shoe (Maria has blue pumps) and very weird looking accessory (a tarantula looking neck piece if you ask me) So, you are left with nothing but bad taste, poor style and should-I-fire-my-stylist dilemma.

What Maria Can’t Resist

Maria Sharapova

Reporter: How many hours per day do you train?
Maria: About 4 hours of tennis per day. Plus fitness 1,5-2 hours. During tournaments i train 2-3 hours per day

Reporter: You always think so positively. Do you scoop it from yourself?
Maria: I always try to be an optimist. I think it helps to live.

Reporter: How do you feel when you hear “Maria Sharapova, the champion of Wimbledon”?
Maria: It’s awesome, I don’t have any words. I have never, never expected that it was going to happen so soon. To arrive here and to win – this was my dream.

Reporter: What are you most afraid of?
Maria: Some animals. For example snakes. I’ve met some, awful.

Reporter: What delicacy you can not resist?
Maria: The ice-cream with the strawberry.

Reporter: Can you remember the last time your father didn’t visit your match?
Maria: Never! It seems to me that he has missed only three trainings!

Rating: 3

I find it rather odd to wear funky animal print pumps with a cocktail dress as delicate as this one. A well crafted piece such as this deserves elegant gold evening sandals. The ecru empire waist gown has lovely ruffles on the neckline and there's just so much beautiful details on the dress. That's probably the problem with having too much shoes in the closet, you don't know which one to wear with what. Ayayay.
