PETA has launched a website called ‘Meet the Trollsen twins’ on which they have renamed the Olsen sisters, “Hairy-Kate” and “Trashley”. The site has a ‘Fatal Fashion’ interactive dress-up section, complete with pools of blood. My personal favourite, however, is the video parody of a Full House episode re-edited with graphic shots of animal cruelty. 

PETA claims they are going after Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen because they have “Ignored pleas to stop wearing fur and using it in their fashion collection”.

Dan Shannon, assistant director of youth campaigns for peta2 said, “No one would argue that Mary-Kate and Ashley could use some meat on their bones, but the last thing they need is hair on their backs - especially when it belongs to someone else.”

An advertising campaign will reinforce the trashing, with a billboard stating “Fur Is Worn By Beautiful Animals and Ugly People” that will be launched opposite the twins’ star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen and their mary-kateandashley brand announced their endorsement of Help1Up, the home furnishings industry’s free, socially responsible, and environmentally friendly used furniture removal service.

Through a network of dozens of furniture banks, and facilitated by the non-profit National Furniture Bank Association (NFBA), the Help1Up service collects gently used furniture from the general public and provides it directly to children and families in need. Typical recipients of the furnishings are victims of natural disasters like Hurricane Katrina, women and children escaping domestic violence, and working families living below the poverty line.

“Ashley and I are happy to endorse Help1Up,” said Mary-Kate Olsen. “There’s no reason why usable furniture should be thrown away when it can instead provide a family in need with basic comfort and dignity.

I know someone who is as tall as Ashley (she's 5' 3") and wanted to be so bad to be model. But she was considered short in the modeling world. Yeah, the shortest (and the luckiest, I must say) supermodel of the world Kate Moss is only 5' 6", its still way below super model standards but well, she made it big. That someone I know kind of made it, she did land some contracts and I asked her how she did it. She said, she had to practically live in heels and not just any kind but killer heels. People thought she was like 5' 8" or something. She did everything in heels - cooking cleaning or doing laundry.  I don't know about taking a shower though, I never asked, yeah stupid me) But she's now getting the SJP syndrome, Sarah Jessica recently mentioned that her knees are shot because she was constantly wearing heels like 18 to 20 hours a day on the set of Sex and the City. But my friend says, she had to or she would have taken a different career path. And now that she's retired from the modeling business, she's experiencing a lot of pain. I mean those weren't called killer heels for nothing. And each time I see anyone, not just celebrities wearing these killer heels, I feel their pain. I know they have to do that. But, then again, it's their choice. Nobody forced them to wear it and I am sure Ashley can afford all the treatments if she ever had problems wearing these not-so friendly heels. But she looks cool in this outfit except for the chastity belt she is wearing.
