“Gossip Girl’s” infamous Blair Waldorf has set fashion trends ever since the series began. And she has every right to, being an Upper East Sider and oh so chic all the time. Leighton Meester plays Blair and is featured by Teen Vogue for its February 2009 cover, photographed in neighborhood spots like the Keith Haring Pop Art mural and the ax shop Ludlow Guitars.

She tells the mag that before she was cast as Blair, she actually spent part of her childhood in Manhattan. “I love this place,” she says.

Practically a household name, Leighton naturally attracts gawkers wherever she goes. The Teen Vogue team was reportedly “overwhelmed by the swarming crowd and their camera phones.” Leighton, of course, is used to this, having grown comfortable shooting on the New York City streets for Gossip Girl.

“I don’t want to stop playing the character,” she says. “It would be like part of me going away.” Neither do we, Leighton. Neither do we.

Every gal just has to have a bag and fashionable ones have to have lots. I have bags of different styles and colors to match every outfit for casual wear, active wear, and formal wear. My bags even have to match my shoes. For 2008, here are my top favorites, which I give credit to some female celebrities who helped me discover (and rediscover) them.

[1] Bryna Nicole Loyola Satchel that Blake Lively carried around the set of Gossip Girl. She had a purple one (such a fab color) and I got the same one at $539. Right now, though, only the cream, choco, and black are available. [2] Rebecca Minkoff Nikki bag, which Gossip Girl Leighton Meester brought along a lot last summer off the set. This hobo bag costs $595. [3] Gwen Stefani’s favorite L.A.M.B. Aston-Winston Satchel, which has, unfortunately, been out of stock for months and thus, I have been unable to get one. [4] Louis Vuitton Black Mizi Vienna Bowler Bag that was Kim Kardashian’s favorite. Alas, I could only find a replica at $269. [5] Kristen Bell, Paris Hilton, Penelope Cruz, Lindsay Lohan are but among the few stars who reminded me that a classic never goes out of style. Such are the Chanel purses and my favorite of the lot is the new Cruise 2009 (yes, technically, it isn’t part of 2008, but it was released this year, so it still counts) quilted flap bag in pink lambskin with silver hardware tagged at $2,850, which I’m still desperately saving for.

Leighton Meester is just truly beautiful. The classical type. The kind you’d never get tired of looking at. On “Gossip Girl” she’s so dolled up all the time, I watch just to see what she’d be wearing and how pretty she’d look. As Blair Waldorf, Leighton has undeniably set fashion trends this year that almost every girl followed –  or at least wanted to.

Paris seems to be a Queen Bee in the Hollywood Hills & her opponent Leighton Meester in character as Blair Waldorf is the Queen in the Upper East Side.

Let’s duke it out shall we?! Paris and Leighton are both wearing the Marc Jacobs White Joelle Scallop Dress.

Paris wore this dress in May during her perfume launch in London. She resembles a walking corpse bride on the streets of London. She can’t carry this dress and doesn’t have the grace or face! WTF is on her head?!  Let’s give this girl some cake- she really needs it!

Leighton was seen wearing this during the first episode of season two, “Summer, Kind of Wonderful”. Leighton displays 100%  ravishing!! She pairs the Marc Jacobs Joelle dress with a Jennifer Behr headband, a Ferragamo clutch, and Chloe platform shoes!

If Leighton is dressed up as herself or her alter ego Blair Waldorf, she carries it with utmost class and elegance.

Hands down, Leighton won this battle over a huge Tiffany’s landslide!

Leighton Meester and Jessica Szohr are living up there titles as Gossip Girls! They are gorgeous, great fashion palette, and possess beautiful hair!

They are rising to be household names and we can expect more from these two ladies in 2009.

I chose my favorite outfits from Leighton and Jessica! I love when Leighton is in structured dresses and Jessica in sexy causal get ups.

Weddings, funeral fights, fixed dates, drugs, alcohol, lovers quarrel, Chuck Bass crying. Yeah, it’s been one hell of a year for Gossip Girl!

They left Gossip Girl with a bang by deepening Chuck Bass (Westwick) character and his relationship with Blair Waldorf (Meester)!! It was action packed lies, deceit, drama, and juicy gossip, of course!  Wonder how the rest of the season will turn out?!!

With all these elements, Gossip Girl has the most fashionable style. My favorite outfit of the season so far was Blair Waldorf’s (Meester) white Marc Jacobs dress. That was just simply elegant- she was more graceful than an angel!

Gossip Girl has definitely strained our eyes- let’s see how much more psychotic it can get!!

Gossip Girl Intelligence here reporting on O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

First things first, how insane and well done was Westwick’s performance for the crazy Chuck Bass. When he started to cry, that just pulled some of my heart strings!

This episode was the best so far of the season. Blair actually cares about Chuck, it was really endearing to see them together. Who hates Aaron? He’s kind of a creep if you ask me. And will someone will tell Serena to stop playing around and just go for Dan!!

Lilly needs some sort of reality check, her hubby just died and shes already all up on Rufus? Poor Mr. Bart Bass! And wow, what happened to that baby in France???

And of course the love triangle of Nate Archibald - Vanessa then Jennie then back to Vanessa. Come on Nate just stick with Vanessa!!

Can’t wait till January- its going to be hard waiting! Can’t wait for what ad’s Gossip Girl will release when the new episodes start airing in January!
