You don’t measure the greatness of a gown by how long the train is. It doesn’t make a difference, really. This black bias cut Jenny Packham gown is something Paula Abdul would go for and we all know Paula. And we can only shake our heads.

A classic dress can make a statement if worn well, paired with the right accessories, and well, a not-so-classic color. Take singer Katharine McPhee who hit the Women in Hollywood event in her green Karen Zambos dress. Although this was already posted before, she looks so glam in it I just have to make the comparison. Actress Michele Trachtenberg, however, chose the black version (Hmm… Isn’t she almost always in black?) of the cowl-necked frock for the opening of XIV restaurant in L.A. a week later. No wow, there. Besides, Katharine’s figure is flattered by the dress, while Michelle… Well, it’s Michelle.

Katharine McPhee gives me fever in her little black strapless number. Her black leather jacket, white tank and pencil skirt however gives me a migraine. Now, there is a huge difference.

Katharine McPhee! Doesn’t she just blow you away with the eye candy colors? She looks hot in her pink baby doll dress and elegant in green. And that’s what winners are made of.

Which white would you go for, Katharine McPhee’s fishy fit or Gabriel Union’s classy fit?
If there was a fire or some accident that requires a lot of running to save your self, McPhee would have to wrestle herself out of the outfit in case the zipper breaks!
We know we said wear something that can make everybody look twice and have a stiff neck when you are wearing something plain but it certainly didn’t include having a huge flower growing on your sandals Ms. Union.

Katharine McPhee goes dignified in her simple black and white combo. Meeting with the school principal?
Doesn’t this girl remind you of Pocahontas? Well, that’s because Q’Orianka Waira Qoiana Kilcher portrayed her in the movie The New World. She probably keeps the braid to remind people, who knows?
As for her long black skirt, I think it is better worn with a white tight fitting tank with beads and sequin details - yeah!

How the House Bunny girls put the sex in the city.
Rumer Willis vs. Kristin Davis. - Obviously, Rumer wins over the seaweed wrap of Kristin.
Emma Stone vs. Sarah Jessica Parker. While Emma has a more youthful feel, I will have to go with SJP’s body hugging number because it looks classier.
Anna Faris vs. Cynthis Nixon. I love Anna’s dress, it’s unique. As for Cynthia who went all safe in black, well, what can I say, that wasn’t the best thing to do on a major premiere night.
Katharine McPhee vs. Kim Cattrall. How can you even compare. Kat puts the sex in sexy and Kim suck out the sex and left us with y.

Katharine McPhee will star in first major movie, “I Know What Boys Like”.
The movie is set to be released to theaters on August 22, 2008. In Columbia Pictures’ comedy I Know What Boys Like, Anna Faris charms as Shelley Darlington, a Playboy Bunny who teaches an awkward sorority about the opposite sex – only to learn that what boys really like is what’s on the inside.
Shelley is living a carefree life until a rival gets her tossed out of the Playboy Mansion. With nowhere to go, fate delivers her to the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta. Unless they can sign a new pledge class, the seven socially clueless women will lose their house to the scheming girls of Phi Iota Mu. In order to accomplish their goal, they need Shelley to teach them the ways of makeup and men; at the same time, Shelley needs some of what the Zetas have – a sense of individuality. The combination leads all the girls to learn how to stop pretending and start being themselves
Katharine McPhee plays a pregnant hippy, while Stone is president of the sorority. Willis plays an insecure young woman who wears a backbrace even though she could have had it removed years ago. Dennings portrays a pierced women’s studies feminist, and Goodman plays the sister who keeps switching majors and should have graduated years ago. Wright is a conniving young woman from the popular sorority.

The funny thing in Hollywood is that the teenagers are dressing too old and the oldies (ouch) are doing their best to fight gravity by Botox injections (not you McPhee, you’re not that old!) and wearing clothes fit for teenagers to make them look young. Miley should have been wearing this blue number (minus the tulle hem, of course)
