Lucy Liu’s draped blue gown would have been fab if it had not been the same hue as that of the UNICEF Snowflake Ball backdrop. Then again, it made me yawn, reminding me of one of my nightgowns. Love the feathered Roger Vivier clutch, though.

Lucy Liu’s “Cashmere Mafia” days may be over, but she’s got the role of Nola Lyons, the hot and scheming legal counsel in “Dirty Sexy Money” pinned down. As Nola, Lucy gets to wear fab clothes and accessories. Lawyering must certainly pay off. Love her perfectly styled hair in the show, too. Just wonder why the show’s stylist allowed her to wear blue earrings with this red and off white outfit.

Love the color blue and more and more female celebrities are choosing it over black recently. Too bad not all can choose fab blue dresses. At the Alberta Ferreti store opening this month, Sanaa was probably the only one who did. Her choice was a turquoise frock with which she made an ivory statement necklace from Tobi Tobin’s Vintage Couture Collection, along with white shoes and clutch.

Emmy Rosum would have looked good in her blue Ferreti dress had she not worn those awful purple shoes and beige clutch. Lucy Liu caught the fringe fever, but chose to wear it on her dress, which didn’t quite look good. Marisa Tomei, as always, takes the cake. Her peacock blue dress, a Ferreti it may be, is just uuugly. Sorry, Alberta. Maybe it would look good on someone else. But Marisa just has the habit of looking real bad these days.

It doesn’t mean just because you found an LBD that it’s a good one, much less that you would look good in it. Lucy Liu has always been the glamour gal in her TV show appearances like in the defunct Cashmere Mafia or in season 2 of Dirty Sexy Money. So what went wrong? No personal stylist, dear? That LBD Lucy wore at the CNN Heroes of the Year makes her look oh so frumpy.

Reese Whiterspoon, on the other hand, has been all hits lately. The strapless LBD she wore for the Four Christmases premiere is just fab on her, and she donned cute shoes to boot.

I love Anna Friel’s to die for Burberry Prorsum bubble hem dress accessorized with a black Albury necklace - but better sans patterned tights. She should gone bare legs or with opaque stockings like Lucy Liu. Sorry dear Lucy, I am only loving the ankle strap platform shoes.
