Pop punk Avril Lavigne launched her 2008 North American tour with a show at Los Angeles' fabled Whisky A Go-Go by announcing she'll be heading out on her own this time. The newlywed Complicated singer told fans and media her days of joining her all-male crew on the tour bus are over because she no longer feels like "a tomboy".

Instead, Lavigne will be hitting the road next year in a specially-designed bus just for her. She said, "I'm a bit more girly now."

She accepted her award with a brief "Thanks" before walking off stage. Minutes later she stumbled through her song with a thin, wailing voice instead of the rich growl that has won her so many fans.

Winehouse appeared to have trouble remembering the words to her own song, her dancing was stilted and out of step and she was unsteady on her feet.

Singer Avril Lavigne, TV movie High School Musical and Harry Potter were the big winners at the first ever Nickelodeon Kid's Choice Awards U.K in London on Saturday.

British boy band McFly hosted the event at the Excel centre, which saw the Disney musical pick up two awards - Zac Efron was named Best TV Actor while Ashley Tisdale was named Best TV Actress.

Lavigne equalled High School Musical's awards haul, triumphing in the Best Female Singer and Best Music Video categories.

Harry Potter scooped two gongs - Emma Watson - who plays Hermione Grainger in the boy-wizard franchise - was named Best Movie Actress, while the seventh installment in the series, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows won the Best Book category.

The first annual music festival Girlfrenzy, featuring Avril Lavigne, Sheryl Crow and Fiona Apple has been postponed.

The concert was due to be held at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California on October 27 but has been postponed until a future date in 2008.

A spokesperson for the event was unavailable for comment.
