Beyonce’s fashion choices of late have been extremes — futuristic and strange on one end, sophisticated and glamorous on another. At the “Cadillac Records” premiere, however, I can’t tell what image she’s projecting — Hollywood glam with the cut and style of her gown, seductive and eyebrow raising with the see-through embroidered lower part of the gown, or out of style with her brushed back ‘do. I should like the general look, but I don’t. What say you?

After a series of strange attire and accessories, Beyonce Knowles looked all glam at the Cadillac Records premiere in her modified LBD from Dolce & Gabbana’s Spring Runway 2009 collection. The dress fit her voluptuous figure just right with a feminine silhouette. Love the jeweled belt she wore, as well as those fab Brian Atwood peeptoes.

Goin’ for the Terminator look, Beyonce arrived in Liverpool for the MTV Europe Music Awards 2008 wearing a silver cyborg glove. She wears the same in the video for her new record, Single Ladies. I don’t know about you, but it’s a bit too robotic-looking for my taste. Her black dress now, that’s fab.

If Prince could do it — again and again — why not Beyonce Knowles? Yup, the R&B singer decided to rechristen herself as “Sasha Fierce” for her new double album, “I Am … Sasha Fierce,” which is due for release in U.S. stores on November 18.Her rationalization for the moniker? “I have someone else that takes over when it’s time for me to work and when I’m on stage, this alter ego that I’ve created that kind of protects me and who I really am,” said the former Destiny’s Child frontgal in a statement.She added that, “Sasha Fierce is the fun, more sensual, more aggressive, more outspoken side and more glamorous side that comes out when I’m working and when I’m on the stage.”In addition, she set up a cryptic MySpace page (http://www.myspace.com/sashafierce) that gives a “lucky person” the opportunity to receive a personal message and a gift bag valued at $500. Talk about going (almost) all out to promote a new name. We’ll see how that would work out for her.
