Pretty in Pink

When you go to a Pink Party, it is naturally expected you wear pink. Well, a few didn’t that night, like Jen Garner, who wore blue. No, she’s not in the photo. We’re featuring some of the gals who did were pink: Natasha Henstridge, Marcia Cross, and Kate Beckinsale.

Now Natasha certainly wore the best frock, pink hue and style. Feminine yet mod. Marcia, of course, came out classy in hers, as always. As for Kate, we wonder what possessed her to wear this cabbage rose inspired dress.

5 Natasha, 4 Marcia, 1 Kate

What a fashion faux pas! Betcha the Desperate Housewives stylist for the season 5 promotional photo got a beating from Marcia Cross’s agent when the pic hit the Web. Everyone else would have noticed that the Robert Cavalli gown she wore, gorgeous as it may be, was already worn by Miley Cyrus last 14 April 2008 for the CMT Music Awards.

Question is, who looks a whole lot better in it — the red head or the teen pop star?

Rating

4 for Marcia (for looking great, as always)

5 for Miley (she wore it first, after all)

Who’s More Desperate on Purple?

Love the color purple but it doesn’t love everyone. Take Teri Hatcher, for example, who’s generally the pretty girl next door she portrays in TV series Desperate Housewives, just doesn’t look good against purple. The tube dress she’s wearing doesn’t help either, ruffled layers and all. It’s a bad attempt at mixing together femininity and sultriness.

Co-star Marcia Cross, on the other hand, is the epitome of sophistication and looks gorgeous in her spaghetti-strapped (which became off-shouldered) dress, despite her thinner than ever figure. And those shoes are simply to die for!

Rating: 5 for Marcia and 4 for Teri (she’s got charm that can pull off her lack of style).

Desperate in White

I don’t know about you, but there’s something about the way the cast of Desperate Housewives with the styling of this photo to promote the new season this fall. Come to think of it, they do look “desperate”.

Terri Hatcher whose character is supposed to be the good girl looks hungry for something other than food. Dana Delaney needs to fire her hairstylist with oh so horrible ‘do that makes her seem like an old hag who just got out of bed. Marcia Cross, however, looks glam as always. Felicity Huffman is in an unusually feminine dress that becomes her, and yet she has that look on her face like she just swallowed a cat or something. Nicolette Sheridan projects well her TV character with the skimpy offshoulder number and provocative pose. Eva Longoria surprisingly tones down her locks and her sensuality with a semi-tailored pantsuit.

Rating:

5 for Desperate Styling that makes you look forward to the premiere episode of the next season

DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES star MARCIA CROSS has urged the U.S. Congress to pass a new bill to prevent women who undergo mastectomies from being discharged hours after surgery. Cross joined protestors on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday (23Jan08) to lobby the government to approve the Breast Cancer Patient Protection Act of 2007, which will allow women the choice of recuperating in hospital for up to 48 hours after having a mastectomy. She says, "It's such a simple bill that it's hard for me to understand why it's been languishing in Congress for 10 years. "When they told me about it, I just said, 'What's the problem?'" The actress, 45, admits the cause is one close to her heart because she has friends who have survived breast cancer - and she can't believe how women suffering from the disease are forced to go home the same day after losing a breast. She adds, "I tried to imagine losing a foot and then (people) saying, 'OK, now go home.' … It's just really unfathomable." But Cross is positive their lobbying will be successful: "I feel very optimistic that maybe that Congress has shifted a bit, that health care is more in the forefront, that maybe, you know, this is the moment."

It's hard to be excited about gown you always see on every red carpet and what Marcia is wearing is one of it. It's like going to a department store and you have racks and racks of the same dress. Frustrating, ey?

Eva Longoria, the star of 'Desperate Housewives', has been banned from having children by the show's bosses.

Longoria recently married basketball star Tony Parker but will have to wait at least a year before they can think of having children, reports mirror.co.uk.The show's creator Marc Cherry doesn't want to go through the same complications as when Longoria's co-star Marcia Cross got pregnant.Longoria said: 'Marc's not kidding because he maps the year out and really knows the storyline. When Marcia became pregnant it was unexpected and it was hard for him to write around. Tony and I are excited about starting a family, but because Marc has forbidden me to get pregnant this year we are going to spend time as a married couple and build a solid foundation together before we bring our child into the world.'

This may look a little too plain but it just suits Marcia to a T. Somehow this gold halter dress looks great on Marcia and her fiery red mane.

Marcia on Time Management

For Marlboro home gal Marcia Cross, her role as a new mom called for more than a lifestyle makeover. The “Desperate Housewives” star, who welcomed twin daughters, Eden and Savannah in February, needed a complete revamp of her on-set trailer, too!

“I can be on set for 12 hours in a day, so I use my trailer for everything - eating, sleeping, time on the computer - but most important, for squeezing in some sacred family time,” the flame-haired honey reports in the October issue of Traditional Home.

To do the honors, Cross called in Los Angeles interior designer David Brian Sanders to transform her 12-by-30-foot home away from home into a chocolate brown and aqua velvet baby-friendly nest.

“My desk becomes a changing table while the girls are visiting,” gushes Cross, who married Tom Mahoney in June 2006. “The lush curtains are perfect for their nap time.”

Sneak a peek at Marcia’s rock-a-bye RV today when Traditional Home hits the stands.

Some people actually gushed about Marcia's Georges Chakra number and mostly because she wore something out of the blue - torquoise earrings. That's probably what made it dramatic because it's pretty much very plain, almost like a night gown. It's one of those that belong to the limbo category, not that great and not too bad either.

Although at one point when she came up to present an award, I actually thought it was great but then nah, I was just probably bored.
