Another star went for the one-shouldered gown at the 2009 Costume Institute Gala. At least Hillary Swank got the ‘Muse’ theme right in peach Calvin Klein with origami details. Eva Mendes missed out on this one?
And I love her sandals!

Alek Wek knows how to make an entrance. She may not be one of the biggest celebs at the Costume Gala last night but you sure can’t ignore her in that hot pink number. The mini and those long legs with the simple ankle strap sandals is just perfect. Not fair right, you need to be this tall and skinny to stand out! Man!

Marion Cotillard wore a very delicate peach silk Dior gown to the Costume Gala. She was able to hold her own against the dramatic gowns of the evening in this simple, clean and sweet gown. She’s also holding a Dior clutch too. It was Christian Dior all the way for Cotillard. Love the criss-cross details on the bodice.

When Rachel Went Simple

It was like a scratch in the head when I first saw Rachel Bilson’s ruched green Brian Atwood dress. Don’t get me wrong it is pretty dress alright, to a movie premiere! To last night’s Costume Gala it was easily overshadowed by voluminous gowns, over the top skirts and sequins galore. I expected a lot from this girl. Her everyday fashion is proof to that.

These pretty ladies wore Stella McCartney to last night’s Costume Gala but who got the cutest dress of them all? Is it Liv Tyler in a navy beaded gown? Kate Hudson in a gold backless gown or Kate Bosworth in black with lace?

Liv looks regal. Hudson has the sexiest back and Kate with that sweet lace that takes the cake. Fab ladies!

Jessica Alba wore a Jason Wu jewel-encrusted strapless number at the Costume Gala. The dress is really something with all the sparkly stuff but I would would wear it without tights too.

She flew in for this event and wore this? And we’re supposed to go wow with the dramatic train on the polka-dota Marc Jacobs mini? Not really happening. But wow to the Louis Vuitton sandals and the make up, I’ve never seen her look this good. Keep the makeup artist sister!
