How Guiliana Stole the Show

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_giuliana_depandi_09180702.jpg

Guiliana DePandi Rancic

Giuliana is the executive producer of the show Celebrity Rap Superstar.

Giuliana married the first Apprentice winner Bill Rancic on September 1, 2007 on the Italian island of Capri.

Giuliana says that her favorite movie of all time is Moulin Rouge.

Even though she has dyed her hair blonde before, Giuliana's natural hair color is brown.

When Giuliana first interviewed George Clooney she was so nervous she blurted out, "Will you marry me?"

Giuliana's wardrobe consultant for E! News is Jose Camilo.

Giuliana was more nervous about meeting Melania then she was about meeting Donald Trump.

Giuliana's first job in Hollywood was working in the mail room for agent Mike Ovitz.

Rating: 4

A lot of celebrities could learn a thing or two from Guiliana at the red carpet. She wore a much better gown than half of the attendees. What a shame!

Sex and romance is what Guiliana's black halter number is all about. It's simple yet it made a statement.

Marcia on Time Management

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_celebutopiamarciacross59thannualemmyawardsarrivals01.jpg

For Marlboro home gal Marcia Cross, her role as a new mom called for more than a lifestyle makeover. The “Desperate Housewives” star, who welcomed twin daughters, Eden and Savannah in February, needed a complete revamp of her on-set trailer, too!

“I can be on set for 12 hours in a day, so I use my trailer for everything - eating, sleeping, time on the computer - but most important, for squeezing in some sacred family time,” the flame-haired honey reports in the October issue of Traditional Home.

To do the honors, Cross called in Los Angeles interior designer David Brian Sanders to transform her 12-by-30-foot home away from home into a chocolate brown and aqua velvet baby-friendly nest.

“My desk becomes a changing table while the girls are visiting,” gushes Cross, who married Tom Mahoney in June 2006. “The lush curtains are perfect for their nap time.”

Sneak a peek at Marcia’s rock-a-bye RV today when Traditional Home hits the stands.

Rating: 3

Some people actually gushed about Marcia's Georges Chakra number and mostly because she wore something out of the blue - torquoise earrings. That's probably what made it dramatic because it's pretty much very plain, almost like a night gown. It's one of those that belong to the limbo category, not that great and not too bad either.

Although at one point when she came up to present an award, I actually thought it was great but then nah, I was just probably bored.

Rock Tina Rock

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_tina-fey-02.jpg

Tina Fey developed a sitcom, 30 Rock, for NBC's fall 2006 schedule. The show is produced by NBC and Broadway Video, with Lorne Michaels and two former producers of The Tracy Morgan Show, David Miner, who is also her manager at 3 Arts, and Joann Alfano. She also writes and stars in the sitcom, said to be based on her experiences at SNL. The show's title is a reference to 30 Rockefeller Plaza, where SNL is produced.

The show debuted to mostly positive reviews; however, ratings for its original time slot on Wednesdays at 8 PM were weak. Rather than cancel the show, NBC moved the show into a revamped Thursday Must See TV comedy lineup at the end of November sweeps. After its first episode in its new Thursday 9:30 PM time slot on November 30, 2006, the network picked up the show for the entire season.

NBC has renewed the series for a second season. In July 2007, Fey was nominated for an Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series Emmy for her role as Liz Lemon. The show itself won the 2007 Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series.

Rating: 2

Well, we really didn't expect Tina to rock the Emmy's but when you go to an awards night where you're nominated, at least wear the part and go glam. But she didn't expect to win hence, the outfit.

Hayden Hides Oka’s Hickey

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_hayden-panet-09170703.jpg

Hayden Panettiere once saved her Heroes co-star Masi Oka from embarrassment after he was nearly caught out sporting a love bite on his neck.

Oka hailed the 18-year-old actress a hero after her experience with the world's media prevented him from an embarrassing situation.

He tells People.com, "I remember one day we went to this premiere and I didn't realize it was a press event and they were taking pictures and Hayden came up to me and said 'Masi, you have a hickey! We have to cover you up!' And I was like, 'Whoa. I didn't know that.' Hayden always takes care of all of us."

Rating: 2

It's nice that she takes care of her fellow actors. I only wish her co-stars did the same thing for her. Didn't anybody from the cast (her mother maybe?) tell her she looks strange in her misty blue bubble dress?

Once again, the hairstyle is putting emphasis on the size of her head and that it's too big for her body. Straight hair does wonders for people with prominent jawline, chin and forehead. Just ask Jennifer Aniston.

From the Mouth of Lisa

jsw_lisa-rinna-09170703.jpg

Lisa Rinna

Lisa was chosen as one of People magazine's annual "100 Most Beautiful People in the World," in May of 2007.

Lisa and husband, Harry, believe swimming is an important skill to know and take their kids swimming when ever they get a chance.

Lisa and husband, Harry, are avid tennis players and try to fit a game in each week.

Lisa Rinna was honored with an award from the "NYC’s Laboratory Institute of Merchandizing in 2004" for her clothing line.

Lisa Rinna began modeling in 1987, in San Francisco, California. Lisa was well known in high school for having the skinniest legs on the cheerleading squad.

Rating: 3

Lisa is the reason why we didn't see Joan Rivers anymore at the red carpet (although I heard Joan did hers through the web) and glad we are.

She knew the names of the celebrities and because it's the Emmy's, being stylish is a huge plus. She does have two clothing boutiques but that doesn't mean she's now some sort of fashion authority.

Rinna disappoints in this all white strapless number. I think E! host Guiliana Rancic had the cutest dress among them all.

Patricia’s Deadly Number

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_patricia-arquette-01.jpg

Patricia Arquette became so involved with her role in TV show Medium she became physically ill and "afraid of everything." The star plays a mother of three in Arizona who discovers an amazing ability to speak with the dead.

While filming the show the creepiness of her character's 'gift' began to take its toll on the 39-year-old star's mental and physical health.

Arquette says, "I absorbed so much of the fear of the show that I got really sick and was scared of everything. It was horrible."

Rating: 2

Old. Dated. So last, last, last year. Quick, get me on the DeLorean and bring me back to the time this was hot. Don't they even know what's hot anymore? But more importantly, do they even care?

It's just dead - as dead as the characters she talks to on her show.

Portia’s Pet Snake

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_normal_010.jpg

Former Ally Mcbeal star Portia De Rossi is set for a return to TV in America after signing up to play a manipulative lesbian mother in plastic surgery drama Nip/Tuck.

The real-life lesbian lover of comedienne Ellen DeGeneres will join Rosie O'Donnell and Oliver Platt among the special guests of the hit show.

Rating: 3

The bejeweled serpent choker that is keeping the dress together of Portia's Azarro number doesn't impress one bit. Is that all they can do to jazz up this frock?

Snakes accessory are "supposed" to be hot this season (like, who says what?) but nah, leave those to the roadside snake charmers, shall we?

Being a Pop Star Wasn’t Jamie’s Thing

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_jaime-lynn-sigler-05.jpg

The Sopranos star Jamie-Lynn Sigler "hated every moment" of her foray into the world of pop music several years ago. The actress recorded critically panned album Here To Heaven in 2001, but insists it was "one of the worst things" she has ever done - and was only released to cash in on her popularity as Meadow Soprano in the mob TV show.

She tells PageSix.com, "There was no creative process at all. It was a very packaged thing, and people were wanting to capitalize on The Sopranos.

"I take responsibility - I was part of it - but I hated every moment of it. I was faking it the whole time."

Rating: 3

This pink chiffon number is something a 16-year-old would wear on prom night. It's too girly girly for Jamie-Lynn who is 26.

Maybe if she took out the straps and had pink rhinestones on her belt or upper bodice, that would have looked a little better and age appropriate.

Michelle Pfeiffer Live!

Posted by Mean Critic
jsw_michelle-pfeiffer-04.jpg
Michelle Pfeiffer switches off the TV if any of her movies come on, because she can't bear to watch herself.

Pfeiffer admits it's difficult to avoid the sight of herself on TV because she's made so many films during her 25 year career.

She says, "I cannot bear it when I'm channel surfing and there I am, suddenly popping up.

"I recently watched television with my kids and Married To The Mob was on. I was able to watch it for 15 to 12 minutes."

Rating: 2

I am sure people will say Michelle is rockin' for her age. We won't have any argument on that because I totally agree. But just because she looks great for her age doesn't automatically mean that everything she wears is gold. She's updated the little black dress, why she even gave it  suspenders! Larry King would be proud.

Sarah Wore It Best

Sarah Chalke

(On the set of Scrubs) : We have such a good time working together. It makes such a difference going to work every day for 14 hours and being able to hang out and have a good time.

I don't think when people sign up for a life of doing something they love to do they should have to sign up for a complete loss of privacy. I understand a little loss of privacy coming with the job.

I don't smoke, I try to eat right, and I love doing yoga and going for hikes with my dog.

(about how Scrubs changed her life) : Before getting Scrubs, I had always threatened myself I'd have to become a dental hygienist if I quit acting - to me, that would be the hardest job. I would tell myself, 'Just stick it out for a little longer.' It definitely was a turning point.

I think that as is true in this industry, everything gets blown out of proportion because it's more fun for people to read about. It's even more fun to read about if the stories get wilder and wilder.

Rating: 4

If Ali Larter wore this Monique Lhuiller mauve frock, people would have given this more airtime. I would choose this gown over Larter's or Heigl's in a heartbeat. It's lovely and romantic and it doesn't scream LOOK AT ME. The gown just grows on you, it gets lovelier every time I look at it.

Great color and the frills are a nice touch. Adorable.
