As a woman, Michelle Obama understands Sarah Palin’s love for fashion. But this aspiring first lady is not a fan of designer duds. As she told Jay Leno on the Tonight Show, “Whatever we wear, we buy.”
Ever the fashion expert, Leno was also quick to compliment Obama on her sunshine yellow ensemble. “What is it, about $60-grand? $60-, $70,000 that outfit?” he asked.
To which, Michelle was quick to reply, “Actually, this is a J. Crew ensemble … “
Aside from the fashion chitchat, Leno went on to delve into the heart of the matter, which is Sarah Palin’s controversial acceptance of around $150,000 worth of clothes from the Republican National Convention. Leno opined, “[It was] a bad move on her part.”
