Batman star Christian Bale is set to be interrogated by police ensuing reports that he assaulted his own mother and sister.
Despite the accusations, the 34-year-old actor was allowed to attend the UK premiere of The Dark Knight.
A source was quoted by The Sun as saying, “It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth.”
According to the publication, Bale allegedly lashed out Sunday night at Dorchester Hotel, where he owns a suite.
Jenny, his 61-year-old mother, and Sharon, 40, reported the incident to a police station in Hampshire, England on Monday to file a complaint, currently being looked into by London’s Metropolitan Police.
A spokesman for the Met police said, “We can confirm we have received allegation from another force in relation to an alleged incident in central London.”
Two days prior to the alleged assault, Bale reportedly flew into a rage while shooting Terminator 4 at Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico.
TMZ.com reports that Bale became furious when he thought cinematography director Shane Hurlbut ruined a shot.
The site states Bale yelled, “I will kick your ass” to Hurlbut before flinging insults at him in the presence of hundreds of cast, crewmembers and Military Police officers.
However, several sources played down the reports and said Bale was “extremely tired and having a bad day.”
