Two Kates, two covers, one magazine. Well, one for the US and for the UK, anyway. “Bride Wars” actress Kate Hudson covers Elle - US for February 2009, while “The Reader” star Kate Winslet covers Elle -UK. The difference of course, lies in the creative direction of the publications, photographers, stylists. For the US version, Kate Hudson looks like herself — pretty, charming, and bubbly. For the UK mag, however, Kate Winslet at first glance didn’t look like her, but instead, more of a mature rock chick. Others say they like the styling, and I suppose it does project who the “Titanic” beauty is and to others the cover is visually appealing. Ah well…

After showing off her hot bod in sultry poses for Maxim, Hilary Duff went furniture shopping in sweats and later dined with friends at a favorite restaurant of hers, Katsuya, in a black fitting mini under a black and gray cardigan and black scarf. I liked how she brightened up her attire with a brown belt. Not so keen about the white wristwatch, though.

Miley Cyrus has sure been out a lot these days and with boy toy Justin Gaston in tow. Last night the couple were spotted out on a date, sans the Hannah Montana’s star’s parents. Miley has been dressing more her age lately, especially since she’s been off the red carpet these days. But I’m not sure distressed tights is part of a teen rock chick’s wardrobe. Otherwise, her black printed white dress T, black leather jacket, and black knee high boots were fab. Her date, the undewear model, wore his usual clothing of choice: black leather jacket, white T, gray jeans, gray boots.

Victoria Beckham was all posh in Dubai, but hubby David played it down. Such was unusual for the fashion icon couple, who often matched their clothes. But then it was an AC Milan dinner party, after all. And they were, nonetheless, color coordinated. Posh Spice wore a black Dolce and Gabbana billowing dress with black pumps and bejeweled headband, while her soccer athlete spouse donned white collared T and black trousers.

“Heroes” may have been a disappointment to most fans this season, but one good thing has resulted from the series. That is, the steady and going strong relationship of Hayden Panettiere and Milo Ventigmilla. So what if they have a 12-year age gap?
Hayden and Milo spent time away during the Holidays in Bora Bora, where they were reportedly always seen holding hands to and fro their private villa. They got the Bora look right, flip flops and all. Hayden, however, chose to wear sleeves for swimming. Milo did go topless, as all men with good bods should.

Lovers Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhall went out to cheer for the Lakers dressed in matching gray outfits. Reese, however, chose to liven up her attire with a bright teal scarf. I like Jake’s overall casual look and he looks cute with a beannie. Wish Reese had more sense than to wear distressed brown boots with her gray attire. Oh well, no one can be perfectly dressed all the time.

Undeniably the most popular teen star there is for 2008, “Hannah Montana” actress Miley Cyrus was main star of MTV’s New Year’s Eve special and is included in the gratitude list of the Jonas Brothers. She’s on Bop Magazine’s February 2009 issue and here are a couple of photos of her inside the mag.

“Gossip Girl’s” infamous Blair Waldorf has set fashion trends ever since the series began. And she has every right to, being an Upper East Sider and oh so chic all the time. Leighton Meester plays Blair and is featured by Teen Vogue for its February 2009 cover, photographed in neighborhood spots like the Keith Haring Pop Art mural and the ax shop Ludlow Guitars.
She tells the mag that before she was cast as Blair, she actually spent part of her childhood in Manhattan. “I love this place,” she says.
Practically a household name, Leighton naturally attracts gawkers wherever she goes. The Teen Vogue team was reportedly “overwhelmed by the swarming crowd and their camera phones.” Leighton, of course, is used to this, having grown comfortable shooting on the New York City streets for Gossip Girl.
“I don’t want to stop playing the character,” she says. “It would be like part of me going away.” Neither do we, Leighton. Neither do we.
