The Bewitching Bonnie Wright

Posted by  admin |
August 12, 2009 | Under: Wright, Bonnie, Interviews, Featured, Female Celebrities, Celebrities

We are delighted to have been given a chance to interview Harry Potter’s Bonnie Wright. Although she has been playing Ginnie Weasly since 2001, it was only in the latest Harry Potter movie that she was given a big part playing the love interest of Harry potter. Bonnie impressed critics with her performance giving her great reviews. She’s in the middle of filming right now but was very nice to accommodate questions from us and fans all over about Harry Potter and fashion through her blackberry in between breaks.

From fans:

From Ali D.C., USA : What is your favorite Harry Potter movie and why?

Bonnie Wright: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince because it holds together such a strong and diverse film. David Yates challenged himself and us all as actors to really push the series into a new direction. The film has a very unique style.

From Kaye Florida, USA: I’ve read your quite close with Emma Watson and share fashion tips. Do you do girly stuff together like shopping?

Bonnie: Yeah, we talk about clothes like any girl. We love them! It’s so lovely to be able to have good friends on set, as we’re experiencing everything
together.

From Bruce, CA, USA: How does it feel to grow up with the movie?

Bonnie: It has definitely been a unique experience but no one really feels grown up. I guess it’s more of the audience watching us. For us we’re deep within the world that is Harry Potter and the way we’ve grown up is all that we know. I only know the childhood I’ve had and it’s been amazing.

From Angel Redlands, CA: What happens to you after Harry Potter? Are you going the theatrical route, Hollywood or school?

Bonnie: I start film school at the end of September this year which I am very excited about. I definitely want to continue acting and remain within a creative field. I love to be surrounded by inspiring people and work on collaborative projects.

From Jet NJ, USA: What is it like on set? Is it always fun? Do you have pranksters on the set?

Bonnie: On set is where everything happens. There is such a buzz between everyone, both cast and crew. The crew all work so hard and have taught as all
such a passionate work ethic.

From Cathy, Vietnam: What is the most important thing that you have learned from doing Harry Potter?

Bonnie:That you never stop learning and the importance of integrity in one’s work is vital in order to achieve personal success.

Romi Danes, actress: You were in the Harry Potter movies from the very beginning, and the book series was not yet completed. How much of your character’s
storyline were you aware of? Did you know that Ginny was to be Harry’s love interest? When & how did you find out?

Bonnie: I knew as much as everyone else out there really. I never predicted that Ginny and Harry would fall in love - it came as quite a surprise. It was a strange feeling on the first few films when none of us knew the destiny of our characters or the magical world. I think when the final book came, we were quite all relieved and happy as to where our character ended up. Although you do have to be careful to not get too hung up on the books. For instance on the Half-Blood Prince, the final book had come out but no one in real life knew the destiny or future of their life. I had to blank out what happens to Ginny in order to be in the moment.

Romi: How much of the movie is shot with a green screen? Which are actual locations as opposed to studio sets?

Bonnie: Surprisingly not that much because of the advance visual effects they are able to achieve enable us to work in real locations and sets which they can then embellish with magical effects. However, Quidditch is entirely green screen apart from the broom you are sitting on, which can be very challenging to imagine that you’re in the middle of playing an incredibly intense and fast sport.

Romi: Half Blood Prince was really the first movie that Ginny is seen as a young woman as opposed to a little girl–have you noticed parallels between how Harry sees Ginny in the movie and how the media views you since the movie opened?

Bonnie: As the character has come more into Harry’s life, the more Ginny has been seen on screen which then is noticed by the media and the interest grows. I have definitely enjoyed having a character that has developed as I’ve grown older, as I feel I was more prepared as an actress and in myself to deliver Ginny to her final stage as a young woman.

Stylecritics

1. Favorite jeans, dresses and shorts.

Bonnie: Jeans. Citizens of Humanity do a great boot cut. COS do great simple and elegant dresses. Then cut off Levis shorts.

2. Oversize totes, messenger bag or shoulder bag?

Bonnie: I always have my canvas tote in my bag in case I get shopping on my way home to cut down on the use of plastic bags. Then I always love a big shoulder bag to get all my stuff into, my favorite at the moment is my cream Prada bag, it’s perfect for summer.

3. Flats, heels or high heels?

Bonnie: Flats or Converse in day time then a good high pair of heels for the evening. I love Christian Louboutin and Rupert Sanderson.

4. Favorite make up

Bonnie: Ren and Neal’s Yard Remedies for skin care. They are both great organic products and La Prarie is a must. Then Chanel lip and nail colours. Lancome mascara with Mac eyeliner.

5. Do you collect anything?

Bonnie: Hmm…nothing specific. I’m good at collecting clutter and I never want to let go of things, everything represents so many memories that’s probably why my room is so full.

Grey Gardens: Inside the Incredible World of Jackie O’s Relatives

greygardeb.jpg>

The HBO Films drama Grey Gardens tells the tender and intimate story of “Little Edie” and “Big Edie” Beale, two charming eccentrics who were relatives of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. Filmmakers Albert and David Maysles catapulted the two women from virtual obscurity to cult status in the 1975 documentary that showed the mother and daughter living in squalor and near isolation in their decaying 28-room mansion.

Thirty-five years later and interested in what transpired in the years before the documentary, director/writer Michael Sucsy’s original story for Grey Gardens offers a wry, behind-the-scenes look at the reclusive Beales that spans over four decades. Using the documentary of the same name as a framework, the film focuses on the downward spiral of their lives - from their glamorous, high society days in the 30’s to the 70’s and the circumstance behind their dwindling wealth and grasp on reality - and eventual financial rescue by their niece and cousin, Jackie O.

Grey Gardens stars Drew Barrymore and Jessica Lange. The wardrobe on the show is fabulous!
In stores, exclusively from HBO Home Entertainment on July 14, 2009
