Academy award-nominated Stacy Sherman Ray was once just going in for a blow-dry at Modern Salon not too long ago. Little did she know that eight months later she would be dragging boxes and taking over the second floor of the salon to transform it to a boutique she aptly gave the moniker Upstairs. The recently opened shop features the hottest brands in womens’ and mens’ fashion that include Virtue, A&G, Frankie B, Worn Free, and Brave Soldier, among others. The company also prides itself on showcasing socially conscious products and is committed to giving a portion of profits to various charitable organizations. Jordana Brewster, Vanna White, Sela Ward and Kiely Williams are among the notables spotted shopping in the trendy boutique.

Upstairs Boutique gives us a sneak peek of what they have in store for fall.

Stacey on Tobi’s look: “There are a lot of men who say they won’t wear like a designer jean but then they put on the AG jean and they feel great.”
“It’s super simple. It’s a button up and it’s a pair of jeans. However, he can go into a nice restaurant, a club”, says Gary.

Stacy recommends this outfit to wear on a night out. “Since it’s Fall, this is what you wear when you go to Temple. The high-waist detail of this tulip skirt gives it the look of today”, says Stacy.

Gary on Ashton Michael pieces (designer of Candy and Caviar): “A lot of Ashton Michael stuff has hoods on it. He takes classic pieces - a vest, a blazer and he’ll put something different like a hood.” Ashton Michael designs clothes for the Black Eyed Peas and other celebrities.

Gary who is a fan of the nautical stuff says, “this outfit has a classic masculine look that has a lot of men can pull off.”

Gary on pinstripes and plaids: “I think the really big thing for fall right now is mixing prints. You can obviously mix them and it looks really good. I think people should be comfortable with mixing different prints like that and not feeling like it’s inappropriate or it’s going to clash each other because obviously it doesn’t, if you mix it correctly.
