It was a night of glitz and glamour at the official West Coast Premiere of Project Runway at the Remedy Lounge in downtown Los Angeles. Guests were not only treated to the first episode of the new season but also a VIP after party and reception featuring DJ Mark Lewis. Stylecritics checked out the fashion lovers and fashionistas in attendance.

Hot fashion designer David Alexander who has dressed Britney Spears, Mariska Hargitay and Kim Kardashian arrived with his model Laura LaRue in a gold structured dress with contour lines and a cut out back from his collection. The art deco inspired dress came with shoulder pads because Alexander “loves to empower women by showing that structure and energy and strength”. The summer line that he is doing right now which will be out on October 14 has taken him a little bit longer but said his last season was done in one night with a theme and a song. David rocks in jeans and jacket from Zara to go with his Custom boots, his own vest and a Wet Cement tee. David wears the David Alexander for Simon G bracelet. His model is wearing Michael Kors heels.

If you saw the premiere of Melrose Place, Ashlee Simpson was wearing David Alexander. This is what David had to say about Ashlee: “She did amazing, she made the clothes look so much better.” I love this guy!

Winner of “True Beauty” is a beauty in Black Halo. The beauty secret of Julia Anderson is getting eight hours of sleep or else she gets cranky. She has really beautiful eyes but said her eyesight is so terrible she’s almost legally blind! Julia is currently a correspondent for the Tyra Banks show. Check her out in People’s 100 Most Beautiful Women for 2009!

If Gilles Marini only had time to dress up, he would have gone with a nice tie, a little gilet, some slacks and more color like pink or green. But he arrived at the event riding his Fatboy Harley in his regular clothes during the day. Sexy! Gilles on his outfit: “In 30 years, this won’t be out of style. Dark, classic, not too crazy with no flashy logos,” He wears Robin jeans.

Romi Dames only had an hour to prepare for this event as she just got out of a callback for a commercial that required her to wear no makeup and looking geeky. She made this quick transformation in a Nordstrom bathroom but still turned heads in her English Clientele dress which she wears with RSVP heels. I love that she wore it in a pony and side swept hair and I’m almost too sure the boys will agree.

The 12 year-old ‘Orphan’ actress is a self-confessed Project Runway addict! Isabelle Furhman loves Heidi Klum, Project Runway winners Leanne Marshall and Christian Siriano and “the one and only Tim Gunn who makes it works”. She is so adorable in a Mademoiselle Charlotte dress with belt and ballet flats from J. Crew. Mommy helped her dress up for this event.

Tanjareen Martin (Curb Your Enthusiasm) relies on designer Tasha Monique Carter for her red carpet events. The 5′9″ stunner works this gray wrap top with matching wide leg pants from her designer friend.

Danielle Petty works the red carpet in a purple ruffle top and brown slacks from Grass. Her bag (not in photo) was something she bought in the Bahamas.

Vintage jewelry designer Margaret Rowe was also there in a vintage black sheath dress with her own beautiful accessories. Her pieces have been used for a Project Runway photo shoot in a downtown warehouse. You can view her collection at the LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) and at the Santa Monica Museum of Art.

Lorielle New was in a really naughty mood wearing a pretty see through Lana Fuchs creation off the runway. If I could only tell you what I saw up close! She finished her look with a Madeline Beth clutch, Safia necklace and Michael Kors heels. Someone is getting a lot of cat calls!

Both in Cowgirl Heaven, these two beauties really know how to steal the show. Backless, low neckline and fun colors, how can you go wrong? Maria Shipp wore H&M booties with her green halter dress with ruffles while Monet swears by Forever 21 for the best deals in shoes!

The girls talked about their worst pick up line. Monet: ” You are so sweet, you are like a lollipop”. Maria: “Heaven must be missing an angel because you are here! Their advice to guys? Be original.
