Forty-six years after her death and her image is still haunting. Well, not the scary, spooky kind. A collection of photographs of Marilyn Monroe taken the year she died for Vogue magazine has been auctioned in New York for nearly $150,000.Christie’s auction house’s spokeswoman claims the 36 photos taken by Bert Stern sold for $146,500 on Tuesday. The pre-sale estimate was reportedly $100,000 to $150,000.
Christie’s says the photos from a 1962 shoot were the last professional images taken of Monroe right before she died that year of a drug overdose. They were published in Vogue, instead, as a memorial to her.
The photos are allegedly among more than 100 Monroe images offered for sale at Christie’s.

Meh… I hope I live at least another 50 years or so to see how much a Paris Hilton crotch photo would worth :))

If we’re really really lucky, we’ll forget Ms. Hilton in the next five years.
