A Christmas Eve night out with best pal Courteney Cox has wrecked a news exclusive claiming Jennifer Aniston is pregnant. The National Enquirer reported that Aniston, 38, is expecting, but her publicist has denied the rumor. 

In a simple statement, he says, "She is not pregnant."

And the story seems to have fallen flat around Christmas - Us Weekly magazine reports Aniston was spotted drinking martinis at Mastro's in Beverly Hills with Cox and her husband David Arquette on December 24, a week after the actress had her hair colored by stylist Michael Canali.

Both drinking and hair dying are strict no-nos for expectant moms

Troubled star Britney Spears has been blasted for her erratic driving once again — this time by the paparazzi.

The singer was caught driving her white Mercedes-Benz at speeds of up to 100 miles-per-hour in Los Angeles on Thursday night, prompting her large army of photographers to beg her to slow down over fears for her and other people's safety.

But the singer ignored the photographers calls, and continued to raise fears about her ability behind the wheel as she proceeded to make a number of illegal u-turns, as documented in footage caught by Hollywood.TV.

Her crazy driving has already caused her problems in her custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline, and earlier this year, a judge banned the singer from getting behind the wheel with her two kids in the car after a string of traffic incidents, including a hit-and-run charge.

Believe it: Jessica Simpson has decamped to Nashville to begin work on her debut country album, due sometime in 2008 via Columbia Nashville.

Simpson declined to name songwriting collaborators, but says she most definitely will be involved in the creative process. ‘‘Writing is a release for me,’’ she says. ‘‘It’s a way for me to tell my story. That’s not to say I wouldn’t record a song that I didn’t write. It’s just that it has been a while since I have opened the book.’’

But why country, and why now?

‘‘I am a country girl,’’ she says. ‘‘I grew up in Texas, and country music was what I listened to. I always wanted to make a country album, but I wanted to wait until the time was right.

‘‘I think there is a strength in female country artists,’’ Simpson adds, citing Martina McBride, Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Reba McEntire as some of her inspirations.

Asked what has surprised her most since starting the follow-up to 2006’s ‘‘A Public Affair,’’ Simpson says, ‘‘Nashville is a very warm city. The people are friendly and kind. There is a sense of community, which thrives on music. There is no animosity … only respect for one another’s talent.’’

It’s unclear if Simpson will hit the road in support of the country project, but she says, ‘‘Since the record is in the beginning stages, there hasn’t been much talk about a tour just yet.’’

Britney Spears former husband Kevin Federline and her old party pal Paris Hilton were in Las Vegas together on Saturday night. The duo hit up LAX at the Luxor, where Hilton is set to host the New Year's Eve celebration, and by the look of things, Paris and K-Fed had a great time.

At this time last year, Britney and Paris were party pals, hitting up all of the Las Vegas nightspots while Britney was sighted flashing the paparazzi on her way to a very tough year in the media.  Paris would later wind up in the LA County jail.

Britney would eventually lose custody of her kids to K-Fed and certainly he has seemed like the more stable of the two parents.  The couple has two kids together, Sean Preston and Jayden James and thanks to a Los Angeles court, they are now living with Kevin most of the time while Britney gets some visitation.

It may even get more interesting as the long New Year's weekend moves along as Paris and Nicky Hilton, DJ AM, Criss Angel (another one time rumored Britney love) and the ex Kevin Federline are all scheduled for the LAX New Year's Eve bash.

Paris and Nicky Hilton's grandfather Barron Hilton has apparently said he will give about 1.2 billion dollars to charity.

According to the Associated Press, the hotel heir said in an announcement he will donate the money to the Conrad N Hilton Foundation, a charity founded by his father six decades ago.

Any such move would mean Paris Hilton losing a considerable part of her expected inheritance.

The funds will reportedly come from this year's sale of the Hilton Hotels Corp. and the pending sale of Harrah's Entertainment.

It seems the money will go into a trust but eventually will find its way to the foundation.

The charity apparently said Paris' grandfather also intends to leave the bulk of his net worth to the foundation when he dies.

At present, he is worth an estimated 2.3 billion dollars.

Jerry Oppenheimer, author of a 2006 book about the Hiltons, has said the hotel magnate is embarrassed by the behaviour of his socialite granddaughter.

The 80-year-old Hilton has never publicly commented on Oppenheimer's remarks.
